KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A wreck Monday night south of Kansas City left two children dead, and two other children, a woman and a man injured.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says a 2010 Ford Focus driven by a 31-year-old woman from Wellsville, Kansas was southbound on Tennessee Road east of Ottawa, Kansas when the woman failed to yield to a second car traveling on Kansas Highway 68.

The second car struck the Ford Focus on the passenger side.

Two children, Briana Sobba, 11, and Becham Kleman, 3, died in the crash. Two other children, ages 12 and 6, were transported to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri for treatment.

The driver was taken Research Medical Center in Kansas City.

The driver of the second car was transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center.

Troopers say the two children who died were either wearing a seat belt or were in a child safety seat.
