KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Kansas Attorney General’s office filed a motion Thursday in Wyandotte County District Court to drop two of 20 charges against the former operations manager at Schlitterbahn Water Park.

The motion seeks to dismiss two charges against the manager, Tyler Miles: one count of interference with law enforcement by concealing or destroying evidence, and a second count of interfering with law enforcement by filing a false report.

A judge had not ruled on the state’s request as of Friday.

Miles still faces 18 other counts associated with the August 2016 death of 10-year-old Caleb Schwab on the Verruckt water slide, including reckless involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment.

Several other employees of the company, including co-owner Jeff Henry, face charges in connection to Caleb’s death.
