KANSAS CITY, Mo. — KSHB and the Kansas City Royals announced Saturday that they will be partnering together for School Day at The K through 2022.
School Day at The K is a popular event where students from around the metro visit a Royals home game early to learn about weather from local meteorologists.
Chief Meteorologist Gary Lezak and the rest of the 41 Action News weather team will host the event in coming years, starting with School Day at The K on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, when the Royals face the Houston Astros.
“We are excited to once again be the Official Meteorologists for the Royals and share School Day with so many kids in the community,” Lezak said. “This is a great educational event and we hope to make it bigger and better than ever.”
Meteorologists will also visit local schools leading up to the game, and will have in-game weather reports that play on CrownVision during Royals home games.
