Lawrence police arrest 19-year-old man in connection with Thursday shooting that injured 2 people

UPDATE, 1:50 p.m. | The investigation into a Thursday night shooting in Lawrence, Kansas, remains ongoing, and police released additional details Friday afternoon.

Officers were dispatched to the scene around 9:30 p.m. Thursday and located one male and one female with gunshot wounds.

After several people were brought in for questioning, the Lawrence, Kansas, Police Department arrested a 19-year-old man, of Lawrence.

The man was booked into the Douglas County Correctional Facility around 3:30 a.m. Friday, per LKPD.

Police urge anyone with information about what led up to the shooting to call Douglas County Dispatch at 785-843-0250 or Crime Stoppers of Lawrence and Douglas County at 785-843-TIPS (8477).

UPDATE, 7:35 a.m. | The Lawrence, Kansas, Police Department says they have made an arrest in connection to the Thursday night shooting.

Investigators are still working the case.

Both victims are expected to fully recover from their injuries.

EARLIER REPORT | Lawrence Police are investigating a shooting that injured two people.

Officers say two people were shot around 9:30 p.m. Thursday in the area of East 16th Street and Haskell Avenue.

Police say a male and female victim were taken to an area trauma center.

Officers say they have located and detained several people for questioning and will provide more information when it's available.
