Elderly man who left home without medication returns home safely

UPDATE | Shortly after issuing the alert, Leawood police said Zaslavsky had returned home safely.

PREVIOUS | The Leawood Police Department is asking for the help finding a missing 84-year-old man.

Police said Ilya Zaslavsky was last seen at his home in the area 112th Terrace and Rosewood Street around 12:30 p.m.

Zaslavsky is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs around 150 pounds. He has gray hair and brown eyes.

Police said Zaslavsky suffers from medical conditions and does not have his medicine with him.

He was driving a silver 2006 Mercedes Benz M-Class SUV with Kansas license plates VPJ 813 and does not have a cell phone with him.

Police said Zaslavsky told his family he was going to a store which they later found had been closed for two years.

Family told police Zaslavsky likes to go to home improvement stores and Panda Express.
