KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A branch of the Mid-Continent Public Library is closing due to a possible COVID-19 exposure.

An MCPL spokesperson said the East Lee’s Summit branch was closed immediately after a staff member tested positive for the coronavirus Friday.

The branch, located at 2240 SE Blue Pkwy., will be professionally deep cleaned and staff closely screened and monitored during the closure.

In November, MCPL reverted back to curbside and drive-up services only amid a rash of branch closures due to COVID-19.

The spokesperson said another announcement will be made when those services resume at the closed Lee’s Summit branch.

As of Friday afternoon, four other MCPL branches were closed due to possible exposures.
