KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City, Missouri, man died Monday night in Lee's Summit after his truck ran off a highway, hit a tree and burned.
Officers responded to a vehicle fire about 7:30 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 40 Highway near Powell Road, according to a police department spokesman.
The body was found after the fire was extinguished. Police later identified the man as 70-year-old Willie E. Wright, of Kansas City, Missouri.
The crash still is under investigation.
