KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The City of Lenexa held an open house Wednesday night to get opinions on two different plans to build a new police station.

Officers say their current station is too small. They cite lack of office space and having to store equipment all over the city.

Right now, the department rents a training facility along with more than a dozen other agencies.

The city is considering a new public safety complex on the current site at 12500 W. 87th St. Parkway, or relocating to a more centralized location within the city near Prairie Star Parkway and Britton Street.

The two different plans include two different locations for the station.

Officers say the centralized location would not impact response times.
