KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person suffered life-threatening injuries following an early morning crash on 71 Highway at 55th Street.
Police were called to the scene shortly before 2:00 a.m.
Officers say a large box truck was in the number one lane on NB 71 at a red light.
While stopped, a silver Chevy Malibu drove into the rear of the truck, knocking it into the intersection.
The driver of the truck drove north, dragging the Chevy under the back of the truck. The driver pulled over to the shoulder, with the Chevy stuck under the truck.
The driver of the Chevy was unresponsive, and suffered life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
Officers are investigating if impairment contributed to the crash.
