KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A lightning strike may be the cause of an early morning house fire in Overland Park.
Shortly before 2:00 a.m. crews were called to the 8000 block of West 146th Terrace.
Crews reported smoke and fire from the attic of a two-story home.
The fire was contained to the attic and roof of the home.
Neighbors reported hearing a loud thunder clap and lightning strike just before the fire was discovered.
While officials believe lightning may be the cause, the exact cause is still under investigation.
Two adults, two children and three dogs all got out of the home safely.
