Man arrested without incident after hours-long standoff with police

Kansas City, Mo. - - Tactical officers from the Kansas City, Mo., Police Department were able to bring a safe ending to an hours-long standoff Saturday morning.

The incident began about 9 a.m. when a man came out of a house near East 40th Street and Woodland Avenue.

The man began yelling and fired gunshots, a police spokesman said.

No one was hit by the bullets.

The man went back in the house and ignored police commands to come out.

Dozens of tactical officers arrived near the scene and efforts continued to get the man out of the house.

After more than four hours, officers went inside he house and arrested the man.

No one was hurt during the arrest.

No word on what charges the man will face.
