Man convicted of assault, robbery in Wyandotte County dies in prison

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An inmate serving more than 53 years for convictions in Wyandotte County died in the Lansing Correctional Facility on Monday, officials said.

Raymond Davis, 48, was pronounced dead by a facility doctor around 3 p.m., the Kansas Department of Corrections said in a news release. His cause of death is pending.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation will investigate his death, which is standard when an inmate dies in prison.

Davis was serving 646 months for aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery convictions in Wyandotte County.
