KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A man struck a Kansas City police officer who was directing traffic outside Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday, police said Wednesday.
The officer was directing traffic outside Gate 7 after the Chiefs’ AFC playoff victory against the Indianapolis Colts. All southbound traffic was being diverted northbound, but one man drove across the cones into oncoming traffic, police said in a tweet.
The officer tried to stop the man, but the suspect hit the officer with his pickup truck, police said.

The man is in his 30s and was driving a bronze GM full-size pickup with an extended cab.
The officer had some "bumps and bruises" but will be OK, police said.
