KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A man was taken into custody after a more than two hour standoff on East 61st Street Saturday.
Just after 10 a.m. Saturday morning, officers were called to an outside disturbance on 18th Street.
While en route, officers were called to another disturbance near a house in the 3700 block of East 61st Street between a man and a woman.
Based on the descriptions, officers quickly determined that the disturbances were related and involved the same people.
Callers told police they feared for the woman's safety and that she may be held against her will.
Officers contacted the occupants and two women exited the residence. They indicated the male inside may be wanted on a felony warrant.
The male refused to exit or talk to police.
A standoff began, and additional manpower was called to the scene.
At approximately 12:30 p.m., the male exited the home and was safely taken into custody.
Charges have not been released at this time.
