LENEXA, Kan. — One man was injured in an apartment fire early Saturday morning.
Fire crews were called to the Rosehill Pointe Apartments at 13166 W. 88th Court shortly before 3 a.m.
Smoke and fire were showing from a second floor apartment on arrival.
One adult male was taken from an apartment and transported to an area hospital. His condition is not known, but the man was reportedly talking to fire crews at the scene.
The preliminary investigation reveals the fire started in the kitchen area, but the cause still is under investigation.
One apartment suffered smoke and fire damage, but apparently no major structural damage.
The apartment below suffered some water damage.
The Overland Park Fire Department also assisted in putting out the fire.
