KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An 18-year-old Kansas City man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Martha Truman Road shortly after midnight on Sunday.
Police said a Dodge Challenger was southbound on Blue River Road when the driver apparently lost control.
The vehicle left the roadway, broke through a metal guardrail and crashed into a heavily wooded creek bed, approximately 25 feet below.
The driver, later identified by police as Bryan Paz-Morales, 18 of Kansas City, Kansas, died at the scene. His passenger, a 19-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, woman was transported with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. Police said she now is in stable condition.
This is the 52nd fatality of the year,compared to 36 on this date in 2019.
