A suspect has been arrested in a shooting that killed one person in Independence Friday.
Officials say the man was shot and killed just before 11 p.m. Friday in the 8700 block E. St. John Avenue.
Officers responded to a shooting call and discovered a white adult male in the roadway with a gunshot wound. Officers tried to save the man, but he was declared dead at the scene.
A suspect was taken into custody, and police say no one else is being sought.
The identity of the victim has not been released, and the investigation continues.
