UPDATE: The victim has been identified as KCMO resident Andres Garcia-Jimenez, 33.
A man was shot and killed in a parking lot at 1600 N. Universal Avenue just before 3:00 a.m. Sunday.
Police were called to the sound of gunshots.
Upon arrival officers found a victim in the parking lot with no signs of life. He was pronounced dead a short time later.
Witnesses say a small red vehicle fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
Police have not released any other information on the victim, or possible suspects.
