KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A man was shot and killed outside a home near 46th Street and Chestnut Avenue shortly after 6 a.m. Saturday.
Police said a person of interest was in custody and later identified the victim as Andre Jones of Kansas City, Missouri.
Jones, 21, was four days shy of a birthday, which he would have celebrated on Halloween.
KCPD officers were called to the 4600 block of Chestnut regarding a shooting about 6:15 a.m. and found Jones, a black male, unresponsive in front of a home.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
