KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Miami County Sheriff's office says a deputy was shot at during a pursuit early Friday morning.
According to information posted on their Facebook page, a deputy attempted to make a traffic stop in the area of K68 highway and New Lancaster Road at 3:28 a.m. When the vehicle failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated. Authorities say the driver fired a weapon at the deputy when they went through the area of US69 Highway and 319th Street.
The deputy continued to pursue through Miami and Linn Counties. Louisburg Police and the Linn County Sheriff's office assisted.
The vehicle crashed near the Miami/Linn County line on Somerset Road, where the driver was apprehended by Linn County Deputies.
The crash is under investigation.
Neither the deputy or his vehicle were struck by the gun fire.
