KANSAS CITY, Mo. — After concerns from some patrons, the Mid-Continent Public Library has rescheduled its “Trans 101” event for later this month.

Activist Riley Long will discuss his experience being transgender — and the significance of identifying as such — at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 15 at Vault Studios in Buckner.

A second program will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 30 at the library’s Blue Springs South Branch.

“Trans 101” events were delayed last month due to three complaints at a library board meeting, citing opposition to it being held in the open where other people, including their children, could see it.

The first event occurred in September at the Colbern Road branch in Lee's Summit.

For more information, or to register for either event, visit the Mid-Continent Library’s website.
