KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Mission Police Chief Ben Hadley has resigned from the post he has held for six years.

Hadley, who was appointed to the position in 2014, says he has been battling health issues that might interfere with his responsibilities, according to a news release.

He had served the city for more than two decades.

Cpt. Dan Madden, a 21-year veteran of the Mission Police Department, has been appointed interim police chief.

Information regarding the search for Hadley's replacement will be posted on the city website.
