Mizzou student gets (another) Super Bowl date with tennis star
Posted

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Do you remember the Mizzou student who went on a date with a tennis star because the New England Patriots came back and won Super Bowl LI? Well this year, they will attend the game together.

On Monday, NFL Canada tweeted John Goehrke and Genie Bouchard. It asked the duo to be its guest at Super Bowl LII.

Bouchard tweeted, "OMG. Back to where it all began?! And with the Patriots too?! I'm in!"

Goehrke, whose Twitter profile picture is of the two on their date last year, tweeted, "This keeps getting better. I'm in!"

Last year when the Atlanta Falcons were dominating the Patriots, Bouchard tweeted, "I knew Atlanta would win btw." Goehrke saw that tweet and took a chance, replying, "if patriots win we go on a date?"

Bouchard later tweeted, "Sure."

The rest is history. The New England Patriots made history by coming back from a 28-3 deficit to win the game in overtime.

This year's Super Bowl between the Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles is set for Feb. 4 in Minneapolis. You can watch the game on your 41 Action News Station.
