More than 30 people displaced in overnight apartment fire in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City, Missouri, Fire Department says 38 people were displaced by an overnight fire in the 2100 block of Linwood Boulevard.

The displaced includes 30 adults and eight children. The Red Cross is providing assistance.

The fire started around 1 a.m. Friday in the four-story apartment building on the corner of Linwood Boulevard and Brooklyn Avenue.

One person was taken to the hospital with smoke inhalation, according to KCFD.

Officials do believe the fire is suspicious. Bomb and arson units are investigating.
