KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A round of severe weather early Monday morning tore the side of a roof off a rural Miami County, Kansas church.
Video of the damage posted by the Miami County Sheriff’s office shows a portion of the roof at Trinity Lutheran Church torn off, with bricks scattered across the property.
In a Facebook post, the church says a microburst hit the building just after 4 a.m.
The church says no one was injured, but the damage was “severe.”
Despite the damage, the church’s sanctuary, pipe organ and stained-glass windows made it through the storm without damage.
The church is hopeful of holding normal services at 10 a.m. next Sunday.
