Motorcycle crash kills 1 in KCK

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A motorcyclist died in a two-vehicle crash Monday in Kansas City, Kansas, police said.

Just after 5 p.m., police were called to Garfield Avenue and Glendale Avenue on a crash involving an SUV and a motorcycle.

Police said a Chevrolet TrailBlazer was making a left turn onto Garfield Avenue when the motorcycle struck the SUV.

The driver of the motorcycle, identified as 29-year-old Cody Smith of Kansas City, Kansas, died at the scene, police said. The driver of the SUV was not injured.

Video from SKYTRACKER showed the motorcycle nearly folded in half. The front end of the SUV also suffered significant damage.

Police continue to investigate the wreck.
