28-year-old motorcyclist dies from injuries sustained in crash Tuesday afternoon in Overland Park

UPDATE, April 24 | The Overland Park Police Department said Friday the motorcyclist who suffered life-threatening injuries in Tuesday's crash has passed away.

He has been identified as 28-year-old Steven Hinshaw, of Kansas City, Missouri, per Overland Park police.

ORIGINAL REPORT | A motorcyclist suffered critical injuries in a crash Tuesday afternoon at West 103rd and Barkley streets in Overland Park.

The Overland Park Police Department says about 4:16 p.m. a motorcycle was eastbound on W. 103rd Street. As the motorcycle approached Barkley Street, it struck a sedan traveling northbound on Barkley that was attempting to enter W. 103rd Street.

The motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries, and was transported to an area hospital.

The sedan driver was evaluated at the scene but refused medical treatment.

West 103rd Street reopened after being shut down from Barkley Street to Metcalf Avenue while Overland Park officers investigated the crash.
