KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A 60-year-old Olathe, Kansas, man was seriously hurt when he crashed his motorcycle into the back of a police SUV on Friday afternoon along Interstate 35.
The SUV — which belonged to the Mission, Kansas, police department, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol — was providing traffic control for a separate wreck on the southbound lanes of I-35 just north of Interstate 435 when it was struck from behind by the motorcycle.
Nobody was inside the police SUV when it was struck.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said the motorcycle rider was wearing a helmet. He was transported to a local hospital.
