LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. — Six students on the Center High School wrestling team and three adults received minor injuries Wednesday when the school bus they were riding in was involved in a four-vehicle crash in Lee’s Summit.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened on northbound Interstate 470 just south of U.S. 40, which is near the city limit with Independence.

A car cut in front of the bus and the bus was unable to stop, hitting the car and causing a chain reaction crash with two additional vehicles, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The Yellowjackets' varsity and junior varsity wrestling teams were headed to Odessa for a match, which was canceled.

The students who weren't taken to the hospital were returned to Center High school and parents were called to pick them up.

No serious injuries were reported in the crash, but motorists should expect delays in the area as law enforcement investigates the wreck.
