If the first day of school isn’t tough enough, try adding road construction and two new roundabouts into the mix.
That’s the situation for parents and more than 1,000 teenagers heading to Blue Valley High for the first day of school on Thursday.
Two new roundabouts have opened on 159th Street, between Metcalf and Nall.
Both roundabouts are built for two lanes of traffic, however, they are still under construction and only one lane in each direction is open.

An engineer for the city said he had been monitoring the situation for the past few days and that everything was running smoothly.
The first real test for the roundabouts will be the back-to-school traffic.
The district sent out an email to parents telling them to leave early and be patient.
