LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. — For months, New Springs Community Church in Lee’s Summit, Missouri has been working to fulfill a need in the community.

The church recently opened a permanent medical clinic inside the church building, located at 1800 NE Independence Avenue.

"For a parent to be able to bring their kid in and have them seen by a doctor without having to pay extraordinary costs is really important to us," said Pastor Corey McDonald with New Springs Community Church.

Dozens of local doctors and nurses volunteer their time, providing free care to those who need it.

"It doesn't matter who you are, what your lifestyle is. If there's a need, you have a medical need, we want to be able to provide medical care," said McDonald.

The free clinic is open the third Sunday of each month from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
