Night Out to raise funds for suicide awareness

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The first annual Family and Friends Night Out hopes to raise money for suicide awareness Tuesday night.

Chicken N Pickle is spreading hope  with a night of live music, food and stories of hope from those affected.

The event will be help Tuesday May 8 from 6-8pm on the rooftop of Chicken N. Pickle.

Local youth band Quite Frankly will warm up the crowd, followed by comments from Shayla Sullivant, MD, a child and adolescent psychiatrist at Children's Mercy Kansas City, and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, University of Kansas City, and local restaurateur Kevin Timmons, who lost his son to suicide in 2016.

At 7pm Melody Roberts will perform. 

One hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit the school-based mental health initiatives at Children's Mercy.

Cost is $10 per ticket.
