KANSAS CITY, Mo. — No one was injured Wednesday when a building collapsed in Jamesport, Missouri.
According to the Daviess County, Missouri, Emergency Management Agency, the town’s post office building, which formerly stood at 201 S Broadway St., collapsed around 9 a.m.
The cause of the collapse is unknown.
Authorities blocked off the area while they investigated, and residents were asked to avoid downtown Jamesport.
Later Wednesday, the agency said on Facebook the town’s fire department delivered the flag that previously stood in front of the post office to the mail clerk.
Jamesport, a town popular for day trips among Missouri residents, is located about 90 miles northeast of Kansas City.
