KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The National Weather Service says two EF-0 tornadoes caused minor damage overnight in Jackson and Cass Counties.
In a tweet Thursday morning, the NWS estimates the Jackson County storm started around 2:20 a.m. near the north side of Blue Springs Lake and then moved southeast before dissipating around 2:33 right before the north part of Lake Lotawana.

During the six-mile path, estimated peak wind gusts were reported around 85 miles per hour.
A Tornado Warning was in place from 2:31 a.m. to 2:41 a.m. for that part of Jackson County.
Later, a second EF-0 tornado was reported near Archie, Missouri. That storm was on the ground for four minutes, traveling nearly two miles with peak winds of around 80 miles per hour. The storm dissipated around 3 a.m.
The National Weather Service says it does not plan to send a survey crew out to assess the damage, though some damage was reported around the Blue Springs area associated with the overnight storm system.
