The Johnson County Sheriff's Department and the Humane Society are both currently investigating Lonestar Stables outside Odessa, Missouri after a horse buyer contacted authorities this weekend.
The buyer claims the horse he went to purchase was nearly skin and bones and incredibly malnourished, as were 3 or 4 other horses in a barn on the property.
The horse in the pictures above was from three weeks ago. A tipster told 41 Action News the horses were "on the verge of death" by this post Saturday.
The owner of the horses was meeting with authorities at the time of the first update. 41 Action News will update this story as soon as authorities release more information.
