KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police officers used a stun gun on a man who was standing in an intersection with a gun Tuesday afternoon.

Around 2 p.m., officers were called to Volker and Paseo for an armed person who was reportedly firing shots and screaming at cars.

When officers arrived they saw a man armed with a gun standing in the intersection. Officers told the man to drop the gun, and he eventually complied.

KCPD said officers tried to arrest the man, and he refused commands. Police said after he refused numerous commands, the suspect was hit with a Taser and he was taken into custody.

KCPD said the man appeared to be under the influence of narcotics, and he was taken to a local hospital.
