Missing elderly man found safe

UPDATE 5/9/2017 11:45 PM: The Missouri Highway Patrol says Wiley Daniel Perkins was found safe in St. Louis.

ORIGINAL STORY 5/9/2017:

Officials are searching for Wiley Daniel Perkins after he disappeared Tuesday.

Perkins, who is 84 years old, was last seen at 5:10 p.m. Monday at 24510 Oak Grave Lane in Pettis County. According to a release from the Missouri Highway Patrol, Perkins told his caretaker that he wanted to go an unknown city in North Carolina. The caretaker left the room and when she returned Perkins and his vehicle were gone. 

Perkins is a white male. He's 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs about 150 pounds, has gray hair, brown eyes and a dark complexion. He was wearing a tan ball cap, blue plaid short-sleeve shirt, and blue Dickey style pants.

He drives a black 2011 Chevrolet Silverado with a back camper shell and a Missouri license plate reading 2KN201.

Anyone with any information on Perkins or his vehicle is asked to call 911, the nearest law enforcement agency or the Pettis County Sheriff's Office at 660-827-0052.
