KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An 18-year-old Olathe man will make his first appearance in Johnson County District Court on Friday afternoon after being charged with raping two teenage girls.

Johnson County prosecutors charged Elijah Miguel Hernandez with crimes in two separate incidents.

Hernandez faces rape and aggravated sexual battery charges in connection with an incident on March 18, 2019, in Olathe. The victim was at least 16 years old at the time, according to court records.

Hernandez also faces charges of rape and indecent liberties with a child in connection with an incident four months later on July 11, 2019, also in Olathe. The victim in that case was at least 14 years old.

Hernandez remains in custody at the Johnson County Detention Center. He faces a $100,000 bond in the March 18 incident, and a $250,000 bond for the July 11 incident.
