KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A pedestrian was struck and killed by an SUV at West 151st Street and South Black Bob Road Friday evening, according to the Olathe Police Department.

At about 5:35 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of 151st and Black Bob following reports of a crash involving an SUV and a pedestrian.

Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive 63-year-old man.

He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Officers are in contact with the driver of the SUV, who is cooperating in the investigation.

The westbound lanes of 151st Street at Black Bob Road in Olathe were closed for almost two hours due to the crash.

Olathe police notified the public of the closure just after 6:40 p.m.

The roadway was reopened at around 8:30 p.m.

Olathe police are investigating the crash.
