1 dead in double shooting in KCMO

One person has died and another is injured following a shooting on Monday evening.

Authorities were called to the 3200 block of South Benton on reports of a double shooting just after 6:30 p.m.

Police said the shooter fired a gun as he leaned out a passenger-side window of a gray car, which was last seen speeding south on South Benton from the scene.

The two victims were transported to a nearby hospital, where one of them died. Police later identified the victim as 60-year-old Gary Cutchlow. The other victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to live.
