1 dead, 2 injured in Warrensburg shooting, suspect on the loose

UPDATE: August 1, 11:30 a.m.: Police have identified the victim who was shot shortly after midnight as Maliyah S. Lakey, 18, of Warrensburg. A suspect is not yet in custody.

EARLIER | An 18-year-old female was shot and killed, and two other people injured, at a home in the 400 block of Grover street overnight.

Police were called to a shooting Saturday morning. Upon arrival, officers discovered three shooting victims.

An 18-year-old female from Warrensburg was dead at the scene from an apparent gunshot wound.

A 20-year-old male and a 17-year-old female also were shot and transported to an area hospital. Their injuries are non-life threatening.

Initial reports indicated that a large party was taking place at a home when a fight broke out.

A male suspect pulled a gun and started shooting, striking three victims.

The dead female was found in an alley in the rear of the house.

Police still are searching for the male shooter.
