KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person was killed and four others injured in a boat collision just after midnight at Lake of the Ozarks.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says a 1995 Sea Ray, driven by John Bennett struck the port side of a 2005 Formula, driven by Scott Comia at the 18 mile marker of the main channel.

Dawn M. Steinkuehler, 42, of High Ridge, Mo. was pronounced dead on the scene.

Four other boaters in the Formula were injured. One was ejected into the water with serious injuries, but recovered by other occupants. One person suffered serious injuries, two others received minor injuries.

This is Troop F's first boating fatality of July, and the second boating fatality of 2020.
