KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Missouri, police investigated a shooting Sunday night that left one man dead and another injured.

Officers were called to an apartment complex in the 11500 block of Holiday Drive around 10 p.m.

When they arrived, they found a man dead with gunshot wounds outside the complex. Police on Monday identified the man as 22-year-old Derrick Donahue.

Police said witnesses directed them to another area within the complex, where they found a second man had been shot. He was taken to the hospital and police said he was in stable condition.

Crime scene investigators spent early Monday morning looking for evidence and witnesses, but police said a motive for the shooting remains unknown.
