One person dead after Wednesday night shooting in Kansas City, Missouri

UPDATE, Sept. 21 | The victim was identified as 29-year-old Stephen McKinzie.

ORIGINAL STORY, Sept. 15 | One person is dead after a shooting late Wednesday night in Kansas City, Missouri, according to Kansas City police.

Around 9:30 p.m. officers who were outside East Patrol Station heard sounds of gunshots in the area.

Those officers immediately began canvassing the area and within minutes a shooting call came in at East 30th Street and Wabash Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers located the victim, an adult male, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds in the street.

EMS responded and the victim was taken to the hospital.

The victims died of his injuries at the hospital.

There is no suspect information at this time.
