KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person was killed and another was injured following a late-night crash north of the Kansas City Zoo.
It happened just after 11 p.m. Thursday at 55th Street and Swope Parkway.
Kansas City police say a gray Saturn was traveling eastbound and a white Suburban was heading southbound when they collided near the intersection.
The driver of the Saturn, identified as 27-year-old Xavier Johnson of Kansas City, Missouri, died in the crash. The passenger in the Saturn was transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Suburban was taken into custody, police said.
