1 person killed in crash on I-70 west of Lawrence

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person was killed after a vehicle hit a deer and was then struck by another vehicle on Interstate 70 west of Lawrence on Sunday morning.

The Kansas Turnpike Authority reported that just after 2 a.m. Sunday, a vehicle was in the second lane on I-70 near milepost 199 when it struck a deer.

The driver lost control and struck the inside barrier wall and came to a rest in the lane, facing south.

A second vehicle was eastbound in the second lane and struck the disabled vehicle on the passenger side.

One person was killed in the crash.

No other details have been released.
