KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person was seriously injured in a single vehicle crash on Interstate 35 late Friday night.
Emergency crews were called to I-35 and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard just before 11:30 p.m.
Police said a black Honda Civic was northbound in the inside lane when they lost control and began to slide sideways.
The Honda slid across two lanes of traffic before hitting the steel guardrail face.
The guardrail sheared off and impaled the left side of the vehicle and exited the right side.
The guardrail badly injured the driver's legs. The driver was transported with life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
