One person killed in rush hour traffic crash

UPDATE: Police say a 38-year-old man drove his car off the interstate and sped up an embankment. The car hit the bottom of the Raytown Road bridge and rolled over.

The driver did not have on his seat belt.

He was dead at the scene.

Police later identified the man as Matthew Vanlew of Holden, Missouri.

A rush hour rollover killed one person Thursday evening on Interstate 470 under Raytown Road in southeast Kansas City.

The wreck closed two of the eastbound lanes on the interstate.

There's no word on what caused the accident.
