KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person was killed in a single vehicle crash at 86th & Blue Ridge late Saturday night.
Police were called to the scene at 12:14 a.m.
Officers say a silver Pontiac was traveling south on Blue Ridge Boulevard at a very high rate of speed.
The driver lost control and went off the roadway to the left, striking a very large tree.
The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
