KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning on Interstate 435 south of I-35 in the Northland.

Kansas City, Missouri, police were called to the scene on I-435 and Northeast 53rd Street just before 2:30 a.m.

Police said an Infiniti SUV was northbound when the driver apparently lost control.

The vehicle left the inside lane of the highway and entered the grassy median, where it overturned at least once and ejected a passenger before coming to rest partially in the inside southbound lane.

The passenger, later identified as 53-year-old Gwendolyn C. Snow of Olathe, died at the scene, while the driver, an adult male, was transported to an area hospital and was listed in stable condition.

Traffic in both directions was fully restored by 5 a.m.

No other details about the crash are available.
